BCDGA Safety in Sport Policies

The BC Disc Golf Association (BCDGA) is committed to promoting safety in sport across all disc golf environments.

Safety in sport means that all environments are physically safe and accessible, as well as psychologically and culturally safe and inclusive. This applies both on and off the course, including tees, fairways, baskets, tournament venues, club events, offices, and boardrooms. Injury prevention and management, responding to maltreatment when it occurs, and building a positive culture are all essential components of sport safety. We are committed to fostering a culture that prioritizes respectful disc golf experiences that are safe for everyone.

The BCDGA is committed to creating cultures and environments that are safe, respectful, and inclusive for all BCDGA clubs, members, and partner activities. This means we strive to ensure that all environments used for disc golf are physically safe and accessible, psychologically and culturally safe, and inclusive.

Unsafe treatment occurs when someone intentionally or unintentionally does or says something that harms another person. It can also happen when someone fails to do something they are required to do.
